Fortune Girl

Fortune Girl Main Game Screen

enter site Fortune Girl General Information:

Pokie games cover a wide and often odd range of topics, this much is undeniable. From movies to literature, puns to rhymes, in the search for the next popular topic the creators of these reach ever stranger heights. One theme which is strangely underrepresented is Japanese Anime. Despite being hugely popular all over the world, this type of animation has very few games based on its appearance. Fortunately, Fortune Girl is here to plug that hole. Is it worth the look? Keep reading to find out!

The Fortune Girl pokie game runs on the Microgaming software system. One of the most popular and prolific creators of online pokies, Microgaming has been in the business for over a decade, and have now taken their experience and applied it to a Fortune Girl themed game. This game was released on the 4th of May, 2017.

As is standard with games offered by the Microgaming software system, this game is available for play on PC, Mac, mobile and tablet systems, such is the versatility on offer.

Fortune Girl Main Game Screen

Fortune Girl comes with a total of 15 paylines over 5 reels in a 3×5 layout. The player cannot modify which paylines are active in this game.

  • The follow url return to player offered by this game sits at around 95%, which approaches the lower end of average.

  • Coins or Credits

This allows the player to choose how they want their currency to be displayed, between coins or credits.

  • Coin Size

This allows the player to select their coin size from a list of all available options.

  • Coins per Line

This allows the player to select how many lines that they wish to wager per line.

  • Sounds

This option simply toggles on and off all of the noises which the game can generate.

  • Quick Spin

This option enables the quickspin feature. This speeds up the spinning of the reels, meaning less time wasted waiting for them to come to rest once put in motion.

Other Settings

The autoplay button allows the user to choose a variety of, you guessed it, autoplay options. The quick ones on offer are a 10, 25, 50 and 100x autospins. Oddly, an unlike most other Microgaming pokies, there are no advanced options for autospin available within this section. This means no entering custom spin amounts, or setting custom autospin end options. An odd choice, to say the least.

Fortune Girl also comes with a help section in the form of the paytable section. This lists all of the available paylines, the symbol payouts and the different bonus structures. To gain access to this the player must click on the three horizontal lines to the left of the page and then click on the paytable button.

follow url Background:

There isn't really much in terms of a background when it comes to this game. This is because it is not based off a particular property, it just sticks to the anime theme. What is interesting is that despite anime being a Japanese creation, this game is actually based more on a Chinese setting. This is odd because while China, especially Chinese history and art, are very popular themes for pokies, but this game goes in a different direction.

Fortune Girl Wild

The  wilds symbol in this game comes in the form of a Fortune Girl symbol.

At maximum bet the payouts are as follows:

  • 2 give a bonus of 10 credits
  • 3 give a bonus of 50 credits
  • 4 give a bonus of 90 credits
  • 5 give a bonus of 350 credits

When on a winning payline this symbol will double the player's win. This can substitute for any icon except the scatter symbol.

Fortune Girl Scatter

The scatter symbol in Fortune Girl come in form of what I can only assume is a golden dragon.

These act as multipliers, with the more symbols gained on a single spin increasing the multiplier. These values are as follows:

  • 3 give a 1x multiplier
  • 4 give a 2x multiplier
  • 5 give a 3x multiplier
  • 6 give a 5x multiplier
  • 7 give a 8x multiplier
  • 8 give a 10x multiplier
  • 9 give a 20x multiplier
  • 10 give a 50x multiplier
  • 11 give a 100x multiplier
  • 12 give a 300x multiplier
  • 13 give a 500x multiplier
  • 14 give a 900x multiplier
  • 15 give a 1200x multiplier

These do not have to be on any winning paylines in order to be activated or payout. Gaining 3 or more of these on a single spin triggers 14 free spins.

Fortune Girl Super Stacked

The Mystery Symbols can appear randomly in both the regular game and the free spins bonus game. In the base game these can transform into any symbol except the wild symbol. In the free spins bonus game they can transform into any symbol including the wild symbol.

BONUS GAMES and features

The free spins game is activated when the player gains 3 or more scatter symbols during a single spin. When activated this gives the player 14 free spins.

The total amount bet during these free spins is taken from the amount which was bet in the round in which the free spin bonus game was activated. Additional free spins can be retriggered from within this game.

How to Play:

For the simplest possible experience the player need only choose their bet and click the spin button. To further modify their bet the player needs to enter the setting screen. From here they can individually change both their selected coin size and the amount of coins wagered per line.

For autoplay and more advanced options the play can click on the autoplay button, this allows the player to select 1 of 5 basic autospin options, 10x, 25x, 50x or 100x.

Overall Design and Usability:

When it comes to design I would have to praise the look of Fortune Girl. The graphics within this game are all bright and colourful, and are all well suited to the theme. Gold looks to be the colour of the day over at Fortune Girls house, both in terms of symbols and background graphics. While the Fortune Girl herself and the scatter symbol are undeniably anime, the rest of the icons simple cartoonish representations of items from Chinese culture. Bold and striking all around, especially on the small screen of a good phone.

When it comes to usability, this is a game which can be a little bit of a let down. While many of the options that users have come to expect are included within this game, there is no denying that a few key components are missing. No customising autoplay settings is a big issue, as is the fact that advanced changes to the bet can only be performed through the settings page. I'm not really sure why Microgaming went this way with Fortune Girl, but it does make the experience a bit more of a hassle than it needs to be. Other than that, the game works very well. Fast, responsive and with no issues at all regarding reliability during my tests.

Where to find it:

Microgaming is one of the most popular gambling software systems available, and is the main software used by a great many websites. If you already have a favourite gambling website then do a quick search, it might already be on offer. If it is not, or you would prefer a direct link then check out some of  the links below.

Great to look at, and with some great bonuses. Especially fantastic is the 1200x multiplier possible through the collection of scatter symbols, though this is not something that many of us are likely to see. What really lets this game down is the lack of customisation. While people might be able to overlook the bet changing options being in a separate menu, the lack of autospin customisation is something else entirely. If this is of no concern to you then I can absolutely recommend this game, otherwise I'd stick with something which is a little bit more user friendly.
