Matsuri Basic Information:
When most of us think of gambling we think of casinos. The lights, the noises and the smells, all of these parts combine to create that experience which so enraptures us. Despite being so much of the traditional gambling experience this design is not without problems. Sometimes we want to gamble from comfort, without all that hustle and bustle. Matsuri understands this, and brings with it one of the most relaxing and comfortable pokie designs we've seen yet. Is it worthwhile, or is this pokie more likely to put you to sleep? Keep reading our review to find out…
This pokie was created by the developers at Play'n Go. This team uses their powerful Game Account Toolkit to create flexible and modular designs. The Play'n Go system is compatible with a great many devices which are capable of running Flash. This means most PCs, Apple computers and tablets, along with a variety of other mobile devices. Check if your device supports flash, if it does you should be able to run games from Play'n Go.

This option will automatically lower the players bet in the situation where they cannot afford the next spin at their current settings.
- Spacebar to spin
This option simply adds pressing spacebar to the number of ways in which the reels can be spun.
Additional options can be accessed by clicking on the autoplay button. The basic options here allow the play to select from 10, 20, 30,40 or 50 autospins. The player can also choose to stop the reels from spinning in the following scenarios:

Other Helpful Additions

Matsuri is a Japanese word for festival, and it covers a wide range of festivals held by the Japanese people over the course of a year. This game does not appear to draw directly from any one festival, rather it seems to take from the general identity and feel of a Japanese lantern festival. These have been popular for hundreds of years due to their contributions to community and their undeniable beauty and elegance.
Other Features and Bonuses
The wild in Matsuri comes in the form of a floating lantern. This can appear on substitute for all other symbols except the scatter.
The free spins game symbol in Matsuri comes in the form of these festival masks. Gaining three or more of these on a single spin gives the player access to 8 free spins in the free spins bonus game.
The bonus symbol in Matsuri comes in the form of 2 swimming goldfish. Gaining 3 or more of these in a single spin will give the player access to the Kingyo Sukui bonus game.
The free spins game in Matsuri is triggered when the player gathers 3 or more Matsuri masks in one spin. In this bonus game the player will start with a total of 8 free spins. When the player manages to gather an additional mask during the free spins additional spins will be added to the free spin amount. This can increase up to a maximum of 20 free spins.
In this game the wild symbol will expand vertically until it covers the entire reel. Any of these which remain when a new spin is begun will move one step to the left with each additional spin.
The Kingyo Sukui bonus game is accessed when the player manages to gain at least 3 goldfish symbols in a single spin. Following this, the player will be transported to a new screen. On this screen the player will be tasked with picking up goldfish without breaking their delicate paper spoon. The more goldfish which the player manages to gain during this game the greater the overall cash reward will be. This can max out of 500x the player's current bet.

Clicking the autoplay button allows the player to go through a selection of different amounts of autospins.
Overall Design and Usability:
A beautiful design in all regards. A lot of this is tied to the direct inspiration of the game – the beautiful festivals of Japan. Play'n Go have taken some of these elements, the clothing, the lanterns, the food, and created detailed graphics and animations which do a lot to sell the theme. The game itself is set against the night sky of the outskirts of a Japanese city. The purples and blues of the sky blend perfectly with the lights from the city festival, creating an environment which we really wish we could actually visit. This quality extends to the sound effects, though we can't help but feel a constant backing music track would really have added a lot here. Regardless of this tiny complaint the game itself is fantastic, really one of the best.
In terms of usability we have seen no issues with Matsuri. During our testing procedure we found the game to be fully reliable, with all buttons being quick to respond without issue. This usability also extends to the autoplay system, which can add a lot to the players who want to sit back and watch the reels spin. In fact the only place where there would be room for improvement would be in adding graphics options. This game is a lot of fun so including graphical levels would make players on older or less powerful hardware able to get in on the action.
